About Us
The Dippels changed their lifestyle in 2000 by leaving a larger city to raise their two girls in the small town environment of Menard. Besides running the ranch, they are involved with their daughter’s activities, church, volunteer work and serving on the school board. They attempt to experience life’s endless opportunities through travel and adventure.
Your guide and outfitter, Chipper Dippel, loves the outdoors and enjoys spending time there whenever possible. He is an avid bow hunter and has hunted in Alaska, Canada, Colorado, New Mexico and Texas. He has also hunted with a rifle in these areas as well as Africa, Australia, New Caledonia and Mexico. With his experience, hard work and hunting ethics, he can promise you a great adventure and a memorable hunt at the Whispering Water Ranch & Resort.

Welcome
I was fortunate to grow up 90 miles from here and started hunting with my father at the age of 4. While in high school, I started managing whitetail deer here in Menard County on a friend’s ranch. I have been interested and involved with raising trophy whitetail by developing pristine habitat and superior genetics ever since.
As my hunting interest grew and my skills developed, I had opportunities to hunt numerous other species. I have hunted all over the world on a variety of different hunts from do-it-yourself to fully guided. I know what is expected and know what it takes to offer a great quality hunt.
My family and I specialize in the individual or small group of hunters. We focus on quality not quantity. We take notice to every detail and can promise you a memorable experience. We do this because we love it!
